Home Tour: Master Bedroom Corner

After seven months of scouring the web for the perfect light fixtures, drooling over inspiration photos on Pinterest and nitpicking over paint colors our new home is finally complete. As the interior takes shape I’ll be posting some pics here. Currently my spare bedroom/office is a shambles, but the master bedroom is starting to look pretty good. Here’s one corner that I’m particularly happy with:

Master Bedroom Corner

For a week we used plastic bin lids propped up on the window frame for privacy, but the shades and curtains have arrived. I no longer have to worry whether I’m flashing my new neighbors. I’d say the splurges for this space were the window coverings and the original art from local painter Emily Jeffords. Once in a while she takes orders to do commissioned pieces. The dresser I bought on Craigslist and I plan to paint the drawer fronts white. The chair I purchased a long time ago from the Miracle Hill Thrift Store and had recovered with some very inexpensive upholstery fabric. The basket was a TJ Max clearance find and has come in handy over the years.

The rug is a Crate and Barrel floor sample. Normally $149 I picked it up for $80 during Christmas vacation in Seattle.

JCP Jonathan Adler PillowThe pillow I scored for $10 at JC Penney, which is now one of my favorite places to score great deals on cool stuff. It’s a Jonathan Adler design and for some reason it’s still $50 on their website, but I got mine marked down on clearance in the Greenville store.

Now that I’ve shared my little JCP secret with you, I’d love to know– where do you go to find great deals on home decor items?

  • Trisha Keehn - My neighborhood has a ‘private’ group on Facebook that I discovered while talking with a neighbor. It’s a place to post household items for sale. I have found some great deals! The wonderful part is the proximity; I don’t have to go far to pick up my purchase!
